Parubiy expects VR on Thursday to extend moratorium on farmland sale

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Thursday may consider the issue of the moratorium on agricultural land sale.

Speaker of the Ukrainian parliament Andriy Parubiy stated this at a meeting of the Agenda-Setting Council on Monday, December 17, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"It is proposed that all issues related to the extension of the prohibition of agricultural land alienation be put on the agenda of the session so that we can consider it on Wednesday at a committee’s meeting and all the issues related to the moratorium on land sales can be then considered as one block on Thursday,” said Parubiy.

In December 2017, the Verkhovna Rada prolonged the moratorium on the sale of agricultural land until January 1, 2019.
