Ukrainian police receive from Japan latest radio sets worth $500,000

Representatives of the Japanese Government have officially transferred to Ukrainian police the latest radio communications set with NXDN standard.

"The Japanese Government is implementing a project on the transfer of radio sets for the needs of police in Sumy region," Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Shigeki Sumi stated, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

In turn, Chief of the Ukrainian National Police Serhiy Knyazev said that police officers of Sumy region received more than 600 radio sets (450 portable sets, 150 automobile and 30 stationary) from Japan. "We will completely cover the information space of Sumy region, which will make it impossible to leak information and will increase the level of communication between the police," he said.

According to him, the cost of the transferred equipment exceeds $500,000. “We will continue to work on the implementation of similar communication systems throughout Ukraine,” the head of the National Police said.

At the same time, Interior Minister Arsen Avakov thanked Shigeki Sumi for cooperation.

In turn, Shigeki Sumi noted that he remained a friend of Ukraine.
