Austrian Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz has assured that de-escalation of the armed conflict in Ukraine, which was provoked by Russia, will be one of the main priorities of the foreign policy of Austria and the European Union in 2019.
"As for the foreign policy, the biggest challenge for us, as well as for the European Union is, on the one hand, easing tensions in relations with Russia and, on the other hand, the de-escalation of the conflict in Ukraine," Kurz said at a joint press conference with Austrian Vice Chancellor Heinz-Christian Strache in Vienna, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
The Austrian Federal Chancellor defined ensuring fair and orderly free trade within the framework of the EU as the second priority.
