Ukraine calls on Hungary to impose new sanctions on Russia
“Nepop stressed that the latest act of Russian aggression required an adequate response from the international community and called on the Hungarian side to support Ukraine by strengthening sanctions against the Russian Federation, increasing NATO’s presence in the Black Sea and terminating the construction of Nord Stream 2,” the press service of the Embassy of Ukraine in Hungary reports following the meeting of the ambassador with Hungarian Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics.
In turn, Palkovics said that Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban had clearly stated that the Hungarian government was pro-Ukrainian and supported Ukraine. As for the issue of Nord Stream 2, Budapest is interested in keeping gas transit through Ukraine, the minister noted.
During the meeting, the launch of Mukachevo-Budapest railway link in the near future and the prospects for new Lviv-Budapest flight were also discussed.
In addition, the parties exchanged views on practical steps for implementation of the infrastructure projects, development of border infrastructure, interaction in the environmental issues and resumption of the work of the commission for scientific and technical cooperation.
