Court releases ex-State Fiscal Service chief Prodan against guarantees of MPs
"The court has decided to apply to Prodan a measure of restraint in the form of guarantees," Judge Iryna Usatova said.
In particular, Prodan was released against guarantees of MPs Mykola Palamarchuk, Hennadiy Tkachuk, Mykola Kucher, Maksym Kuriachy, Vadym Denysenko and others.
At the same time, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) asked the court to choose a preventive measure for Prodan in the form of arrest with the alternative to post bail of over UAH 89 million.
As reported, on November 15, SAPO prosecutors approved in absentia a notice of suspicion for former acting Head of the State Fiscal Service Prodan. He is suspected of embezzling over UAH 89 million while serving as acting deputy head and head of the State Fiscal Service between July 2016 and June 2018. These funds were used to purchase several real estate facilities and vehicles for his personal use.
The investigation is also verifying Prodan's involvement in the acquisition of other real estate facilities in Kyiv and luxury cars.
