Poroshenko: Russia violates human rights in occupied Ukrainian territories
"Massive and consistent violations of the regulations of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights are taking place in the Ukrainian territories occupied by Russia," Poroshenko stated at the forum "70 Years of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights: an Agenda for Ukraine," an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
He recalled that since the beginning of the armed aggression of Russia against Ukraine, according to the UN data, 10,000 people were killed, more than 23,000 were injured.
"Numerous cases of willful murders, extrajudicial executions, kidnapping and throwing people into basements or keeping them in inhuman conditions of Russian prisons, torture, robbery and other crimes were recorded by various objective international organizations in their reports and presented to the world," stressed Poroshenko.
The President also noted that Russia is fully responsible for violating human rights in the occupied territories. According to him, this was recorded in most international documents approved by reputable international organizations such as the OSCE, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, and others.
