Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicius has congratulated Ukrainians on the Day of Dignity and Freedom, noting the significant progress in Ukrainian reforms.

“I congratulate Ukrainians on the Day of Dignity and Freedom. 5 years since Maidan, thousands continue resisting the aggressor and sacrificing lives for the European future of their country,“ he wrote on Twitter.

He stressed that Ukraine, despite all challenges, had achieved significant progress in carrying out reforms.

“Lithuania stands by your side,” the minister told Ukrainians.

Ukraine marks the Day of Dignity and Freedom every year on November 21, in accordance with a presidential decree of November 13, 2014.

The holiday was established in honor of the commencement on this day of two significant and fateful events in contemporary Ukrainian history - the 2004 Orange Revolution and the 2013 Revolution of Dignity.
