Parliament renames Kirovohrad district to Kropyvnytskyi

The Verkhovna Rada has approved a resolution to rename Kirovohrad district of Kirovohrad region into Kropyvnytskyi district.
A total of 231 MPs voted in favor of corresponding document No.4906 with at least 226 votes needed to make a decision, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
According to the explanatory note, the necessity of renaming Kirovohrad district is stipulated by the Law of Ukraine "On Conviction of the Communist and National Socialist (Nazi) Totalitarian Regimes in Ukraine and Prohibition of Propaganda of their Symbols" and is carried out in accordance with the procedure established by this law.
