PACE co-rapporteurs to visit Ukraine next week

Dzhema Grozdanova (Bulgaria, EPP/CD) and Alfred Heer (Switzerland, ALDE), co-rapporteurs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) for the monitoring of obligations and commitments by Ukraine, will visit Kyiv from November 19 to 21, 2018.

Ukrinform learnt this from the PACE’s press service.

"Discussions will mainly focus on recent political developments, the 2019 parliamentary and presidential elections, and progress in combating corruption," the press service informed.

The rapporteurs are due to meet, in particular, the Ukrainian president, the speaker and the foreign and justice ministers.

Talks are also scheduled with leaders or representatives of various parliamentary and political groups, the Ukrainian delegation to PACE, the Central Election Commission, the judicial authorities, the heads of a number of anti-corruption bodies and the ombudsperson.

The co-rapporteurs will also meet representatives of the diplomatic community and civil society.
