Government sets up State Service for Veterans

The Cabinet of Ministers has created the State Service of Ukraine for Veterans in place of the State Service for War Veterans and Participants in the Anti-Terrorist Operation.
A respective decision was approved at a government meeting without discussion, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman stated at a previous meeting that the government would start this reorganization.
"In fact, the coalition is still working on the issue of approving a nominee for the position of the minister [for veterans]. This will probably take some time, but I think that veterans and their problems cannot wait," he said.
Groysman said that he met with a group of people's deputies last Wednesday. The work on the creation of the ministry is underway, but the government has proposed reforming the state service, which is already ready to deal with this issue, but so far remains without a head.
