Poroshenko thanks world leaders for not recognizing pseudo-elections in Donbas
He stated this after his working visit to Paris on November 10-11 and meetings with many heads of state and government, Ukrinform's correspondent in France reports.
"We took the opportunity to respond to the terrible events that are taking place today in the occupied Donbas where the Russian Federation is holding fake elections organized by the Russians. Today, we see the reaction of the countries of the world, when the absolute majority of our partners state absolutely clearly that on the one hand, these elections will not be recognized by anyone as it is a brutal violation of the Minsk agreements. On the other hand, there is a call for the responsibility of the Russian Federation," Poroshenko said.
Poroshenko thanked Ukraine's partners for such a solid show of solidarity and unwavering unity.
He also noted that he had discussed this issue with the French president and the German chancellor.
The president stressed that the world is steadily supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as the process of Ukrainian reforms.
As was reported earlier, on September 7, militants in the occupied areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions scheduled "elections" for November 11 in which they want to elect "LPR" and "DPR" leaders and "deputies."
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry stated that the intentions of the Russian occupation administration to hold pseudo-elections in the temporarily occupied territories of the Donbas grossly violate Russia's obligations as a party to the Minsk agreements.
