Germany will send a special envoy for governance and decentralization reforms to Ukraine, President Petro Poroshenko has said.

He said this at a joint press conference with German Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel in Kyiv on Thursday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"Following my appeal to the German federal government the decision was made to send a special envoy for reforms in the field of governance and decentralization to our country," Poroshenko said.

According to him, the successful decentralization reform is still being implemented, in particular, thanks to the efforts of Germany and German advisers.

Merkel is on a working visit to Kyiv on November 1. Her current visit to Ukraine is the second in the past four years. She last visited Ukraine in August 2014.
