Klimkin, Lemoyne coordinate cooperation within France’s G7 Presidency in 2019

This was discussed during the talks of the officials in Kyiv, the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine reports.

"The parties agreed on further steps for cooperation within the framework of France’s G7 Presidency in 2019," reads the statement upon the meeting.

Klimkin also expressed gratitude to France for its strong support for Ukraine in protecting sovereignty and territorial integrity and noted the close cooperation of the countries in the Normandy format and within the framework of the international organizations.

At the same time, the Ukrainian minister stressed the importance of subsequent pressure on Russia with a view to release Ukrainian citizens who are illegally imprisoned in Russia and the occupied Crimea.

As noted, Pavlo Klimkin and Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne praised the current bilateral political relations and underscored the significant potential of trade and economic cooperation, which has recently shown a tendency for growth.
