Kuwait at UN expresses support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity
Permanent Representative of Kuwait Mansour Al-Otaibi stated this during a meeting of the UN Security Council held in New York on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
“We express our support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within internationally recognized borders, hoping that the parties will reach a balanced, peaceful solution to the conflict through dialogue,” he said.
He also criticized the intention to hold so-called “elections” in the temporarily occupied territories of Donbas.
“The announcement of so-called “early elections” in Donetsk and Luhansk regions contradicts the letter and spirit of the Minsk agreements, which prohibit their convening except under certain conditions,” the permanent representative of Kuwait noted.
He urged to refrain from any steps “that could hinder the implementation of the Minsk agreements.”
