Poroshenko, Merkel to discuss Donbas, Crimea and situation in Azov Sea – PA

President Petro Poroshenko will hold talks with Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel in Kyiv on November 1, the president’s press service reports.

“On November 1, 2018 in Kyiv, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko will hold talks with Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel, who will be on an official visit to Ukraine at the invitation of the head of the Ukrainian state,” reads the report.

Among the main topics of discussion will be certain steps to strengthen the Ukrainian-German partnership.

Also, considerable attention will be paid to the situation in Donbas, occupied Crimea, waters of the Sea of Azov and the Kerch Strait.

“The leaders will coordinate next joint steps to ensure the implementation of the Minsk agreements and enhance the international coalition for countering the ongoing Russian aggression,” reads the report.

The visit of the German Chancellor to Ukraine will be the second in the last four years. The previous visit took place in August 2014.
