Klimkin: Russia has launched 6,000 cyber attacks on Ukraine since start of aggression

Russia has launched 6,000 cyber attacks on Ukraine over past four years.

Six thousand cases are large-scale cyber attacks the government is aware of, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said at a press conference in Brussels, Radio Liberty reports.

“Not just electoral, critical or banking infrastructure has been subject to cyber attacks. For example, the infrastructure of our ministry [the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine] suffers large-scale cyber attacks once a week on average. Attacks may be different, but they are quite recurrent,” Klimkin noted.

Kyiv has repeatedly accused Russia of launching cyber attacks on infrastructure facilities since the start of aggression in Crimea and eastern Ukraine. In particular, earlier this month, the Security Service of Ukraine announced that it had evidence of the involvement of Russian special services in the cyber attacks on critical infrastructure.
