UK experts to assist Ukraine in establishing Intellectual Property Court

The International Advisory Board held a meeting in London on October 11, which was dedicated to the establishment of Ukraine’s High Court on Intellectual Property, the press center of the Ukrainian judicial branch of government reports.

“The UK project on providing technical assistance to Ukraine to establish an IP court has been launched,” reads the report.

In particular, the experts at Queen Mary University of London will review the legislative framework for the new court, advice on best international practices and launch an international training programme for newly appointed Ukrainian judges.

During the meeting, Ihor Benedysiuk, Chairman of Ukraine’s High Council of Justice, told about the mission of the new court in the judicial system of Ukraine and outlined the main challenges that the High Court on Intellectual Property may face.

The Ukrainian delegation also included Valentyna Danishevska, Head of Ukraine’s Supreme Court, Bohdan Lvov, Head of the Cassation Commercial Court of the Supreme Court, Serhiy Koziakov, Serhiy Koziakov, Chairman of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine.
