Euro-Atlantic integration is a priority of Ukraine's development and a necessary element of increasing its defense capability.

Ukrainian Deputy Information Policy Minister Dmytro Zolotukhin said this at the 15th Assembly of the NATO-Ukraine Civic League.

"Despite different decision-making centers in the member states of the North Atlantic Alliance, Ukraine has to move towards Euro-Atlantic integration and future membership in NATO," Zolotukhin said.

According to him, now it is necessary to combine the efforts of the authorities and public organizations to carry out awareness campaign among Ukrainian citizens.

As part of the Assembly, Ukrainian and foreign high-level officials, diplomats, experts and representatives of civil society organizations discussed Ukraine-NATO cooperation, security in the Euro-Atlantic area and counteraction to Russian aggression.

The event was held with the support of the Lithuanian Embassy in Ukraine and the NATO Information and Documentation Center.
