The United States Senate on Tuesday approved a compromise on the draft budget for 2019, which foresees the allocation of $250 million in security assistance to Ukraine.

"The U.S. Senate approved the bill of the National Defense Authorization Act, which was previously agreed with the House of Representatives and which provides for allocation $250 million in security assistance to Ukraine," the Ukrainian Embassy in the United States reported on Facebook.

As noted, the document includes the main provisions of the draft law on cybersecurity cooperation with Ukraine. The act also confirms the commitment to the United States-Ukraine Charter on Strategic Partnership, the Budapest Memorandum on Security Assurances and support for Ukraine's cooperation with NATO.

The National Defense Authorization Act will come into force after it is signed by US President Donald Trump.
