Ukraine condemns visit of Swiss delegation to occupied Crimea

"The Ukrainian Embassy strongly condemns the illegal visit of the delegation led by the former member of the Council of States, Eduard Belser, to the occupied Crimea," the statement reads.

The Ukrainian Embassy notes that the visit violates the Ukrainian legislation and contradicts Switzerland's official position on non-recognition of the illegal annexation of Crimea by Russia.

Ukraine reserves the right to apply sanctions against foreign citizens who violate the rules of entry into the occupied territories, the diplomatic mission noted.

The embassy also expressed hope that the Swiss authorities would give a proper assessment to this visit.
