The deployment of the new aviation security system in Ukraine will be completed in 3.5 years and will allow using helicopters for various tasks ranging from border control to emergency medical services.

Interior Minister of Ukraine Arsen Avakov stated this during a visit to the airbase of the Turkish Gendarmerie in Ankara, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"We are starting to deploy an aviation security system across the whole country. It will be deployed in 3,5 years and will unite the forces of many divisions... Each of them will be involved if there is a need to carry out certain tasks. This is the experience of developed countries, the best of those systems that exist,” Avakov said.

According to him, the implementation of this project does not stipulate that helicopters will be used only by certain agencies, for example, only by police, border guards or the Emergency Service.

"This strategy is designed to raise the level of service and security in the country to an entirely new level. This is the goal we are pursuing in active cooperation with our partners. The first airbuses will arrive until the end of the year,” the minister said.

He noted that new helicopters will be used to implement a variety of tasks.

As reported, Interior Minister of Ukraine Arsen Avakov and Interior Minister of the Republic of Turkey Suleyman Soylu on September 4 signed a declaration on cooperation in the fight against terrorism, transnational crime and cyber threats.
