Klimkin: Lithuania may take Avdiivka under its patronage

Lithuania considers the possibility of taking Avdiivka in Donetsk region under its patronage to promote the development of the town.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said this, addressing the heads of foreign diplomatic missions in Ukraine and Ukrainian servicemen in Avdiivka, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
"Our Lithuanian friends intend to take Avdiivka under a kind of patronage. It will be a patronage not over a separate object. We will see how exactly the Lithuanian presence - and Lithuanians are our true friends - will help to develop Avdiivka," Klimkin said.
He added that Ukrainian diplomats would seek to establish such patronage over the towns on government-controlled territory in eastern Ukraine and over the entire Donbas after its de-occupation.
