Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk agrees on ceasefire from midnight of Aug. 29

Darka Olifer, the spokeswoman for Ukraine's representative in the TCG Leonid Kuchma, reported this on her Facebook page after the meeting in Minsk.

"The Trilateral Contact Group with the participation of representatives of ORDLO confirmed their commitment to the observance of a ceasefire in connection with the beginning of the new school year, starting from midnight of August 29, 2018. The parties agreed to take all necessary steps to ensure a sustainable ceasefire. For monitoring, the parties also undertook to ensure reliable and safe access of the OSCE SMM throughout Ukraine, in accordance with its mandate," Olifer wrote.

As reported, a two-day meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group on the peaceful settlement of the conflict in Donbas started in Minsk on August 21.
