U.S.-Ukraine ties reached level of strategic partnership for first time - Chaly

Ukraine's Ambassador to the United States Valeriy Chaly said this at a press conference at Ukrinform on Tuesday.

"Ukraine, for the first time during all years of interaction with the United States of America, is reaching a level of strategic partnership, at least in the area of security and defense. I have the right to say so, because I know for sure the basic principles of this, strategic goals, which the countries cannot achieve without one another, and common values," Chaly said. 

According to him, this area emerged in relations between Ukraine and the United States after the Russian attack. The signs of this are a new level of interaction in the area of security and defense and the provision of anti-tank equipment and other weapons, Chaly said. 

"In addition, the United States is ready to help us - there is trust that was not seen in the past, as well as a high assessment of the fight against corruption in this area," he said.
