Ukraine welcomes the readiness of the European Union to engage in restoration of the liberated from the Russian aggressor territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
"Ukraine welcomes the readiness of the European Union to engage in the reconstruction and development of the liberated from the Russian aggressor territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions," President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko posted on Facebook.
The Head of State reminded that the agreement had been reached at the EU-Ukraine Summit to launch the initiative on "patronage" by interested EU member states over selected cities and areas of liberated territories for the implementation of targeted assistance projects on infrastructure restoration, economic development, and ensuring communities’ normal livelihoods.
As a reminder, the 20th EU-Ukraine Summit was held in Brussels on July 9.
