Poroshenko greenlights establishment of Anti-Corruption Court

"The way for the creation and functioning of the High Anti-Corruption Court has been paved fully! I’ve just signed the Law of Ukraine "On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On Judicial System and Status of Judges" in connection with the adoption of the Law of Ukraine "On High Anti-Corruption Court," the President posted on Facebook.

Poroshenko appealed to the High Qualification Commission of Judges with a request to hold a competition, and to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine - to call on the international partners to delegate their representatives to the public council of international experts as soon as possible.

As reported, earlier Poroshenko said he would do everything possible to create the Anti-Corruption Court before the start of election campaign.

On July 12, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted bill No. 7441 "On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On Judicial System and Status of Judges" in connection with the adoption of the Law of Ukraine "On High Anti-Corruption Court," clarifying the procedure for appealing to the Anti-Corruption Court.

On June 7, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed the draft law "On the High Anti-Corruption Court" in the second reading.
