Italy not recognizes Russia's illegal annexation of Crimea

After the shocking statement by Interior Minister Matteo Salvini about the "lawful" annexation of Crimea, Italian Foreign Minister Enzo Moavero Milanesi has stated that Italy respects the rules of international law and therefore it does not recognize Russia's annexation of Crimea.
He said this in the Italian parliament on Wednesday, the ANSA agency reported.
"Italy does not recognize Russia's illegal annexation of Crimea," the foreign minister said.
Milanesi also stressed that the Italian government respected the rules of international law.
As reported, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo issued a statement, titled "Crimea Declaration," stating that the United States does not recognize Russia’s illegal annexation of Crimea and accuses it of undermining international principles of peace and security.
