Poroshenko: Pressure on Russia to release Ukrainian political prisoners continues

Ukrinform
President Petro Poroshenko assures that international pressure is being put on Russia to release all Ukrainian political prisoners held by the Kremlin.

In a post on his Facebook page, Poroshenko wrote: "We continue international pressure on Russia to release all Ukrainian prisoners held by the Kremlin, and this painful question will be raised on the highest rostrums of the civilized world”.

As reported, about 70 Ukrainian political prisoners are held in Russia and in the territory of the occupied Crimea, including Ukrinform correspondent Roman Sushchenko, who was sentenced to 12 years in prison on trumped-up espionage charges.
