Poroshenko meets with Duda in Brussels

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has met with President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda in Brussels.

This was reported by the press service of the head of the Ukrainian state.

"During a working visit to Brussels, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko met with President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda. The parties exchanged views on a number of issues of bilateral relations and international agenda," the statement reads.

The presidents discussed the continuation of dialogue in the field of protection of cultural heritage and perpetuation of memorials to the Ukrainian and Polish nations in the two countries.

The Ukrainian president called on the Polish side to amend the law on the Institute of National Remembrance of Poland in the part concerning the interests of Ukraine.

The decision of the EU Council to extend sanctions against the Russian Federation for the next six months was positively evaluated. Poroshenko thanked Poland for the constant support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

The parties agreed on the importance of mobilizing efforts to counter the construction of Nord Stream 2.
