Association Agreement, support for Ukraine to be discussed at Ukraine-EU summit
Ukrinform learnt this from the Council of the European Union.
"At the summit, the leaders will discuss the next steps in the implementation of the Minsk agreements, as well as the EU's support for the ambitious agenda of Ukrainian reforms," the governing body informed.
At a high-level meeting, the Ukrainian delegation will be headed by President Petro Poroshenko. The EU will be represented by President of the European Council Donald Tusk, President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker, High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini, Vice-Presidents of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis and Maroš Šefčovič, as well as European Commissioner for Trade Cecilia Malmström.
"As for Russia’s ongoing aggression and the conflict in eastern Ukraine, the summit will once again confirm the EU's support for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. The leaders will also discuss the implementation of the Minsk agreements," the EU said.
Among the priorities of Ukraine-EU relations for 2018, the summit participants will focus on reforms of decentralization, public administration, combating corruption, the rule of law, economic development and energy.
