"On Thursday, I offer to start a day with the issue on the dismissal of members of the Central Election Commission and, accordingly, then the appointment of new members of the election commission. I talked with faction heads, I noted that consultations should be held until July 1,” he said at a meeting of the Agenda-Setting Council on Monday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
At the same time, the speaker emphasized that it would be impossible to postpone the consideration of these issues, because "the CEC in August must begin certain actions to prepare for the presidential elections."
"Therefore, on Thursday, we have to pass this issue, approve a decision and finally renew the Ukrainian CEC," he stressed.
As reported, President Petro Poroshenko on January 23 signed a motion on the appointment of new members of the Central Election Commission. The list includes 14 candidates. The President also signed a letter on the dismissal of 13 current members of the commission.
On February 5, the motion was submitted to Parliament.
