Poroshenko: Kyiv counts on Vienna's contribution to Ukraine-EU relations

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko stated this while welcoming the start of the Austrian presidency in the EU.

"I welcome the beginning of the Austrian presidency of the EU Council. In Ukraine, we appreciate the high level of our partnership as regards ensuring the security of Europe. Looking forward to the constructive and effective contribution of Vienna to the promotion of the ambitious agenda of Ukraine-EU relations," Poroshenko wrote on Facebook.

The head of state expressed hope for the inviolability of EU’s unity and solidarity with Ukraine in order to counter the ongoing aggression of Kremlin and to defend European values!

On July 1, 2018, Austria took over the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union for the third time after 1998 and 2006. The motto of the presidency is "A Europe that protects".
