Estonia views Ukraine as one of its main partners
"Of course, Ukraine remains a priority partner of Estonia. Since the beginning of the Maidan, Estonia has provided over EUR 10 million for development programs in Ukraine, including humanitarian assistance," Foreign Minister of Estonia Sven Mikser said at the Ukraine Reform Conference in Copenhagen on Wednesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
The minister assured of Estonia’s unswerving support for Ukraine, its sovereignty and territorial integrity and underscored the importance of further reforms, especially in the fight against corruption. Mikser also called work with the civil society, which is a key partner of the government in this struggle, extremely important as it increases the state's ability to confront both domestic and external threats.
The foreign minister of Estonia also noted that he was proud that Estonia helped Ukraine create an e-governance program that makes the work of the government more transparent and increases public confidence in it.
“The rule of law is important factor that can improve the economic situation and make the country more attractive for foreign investment. Reforms are painful but effective,” the Estonian Foreign Minister stressed.
