Parliament approves law on creation of High Anti-Corruption Court

The Verkhovna Rada has approved the law on the establishment of the High Anti-Corruption Court.

A total of 265 MPs voted for draft law No.8467 in a whole, with at least 226 votes required to make a decision, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to an explanatory note to the document, the draft law was developed to implement the requirements of the Constitution, as well as the laws on Hight Anti-Corruption Court and the judicial system and status of judges to launch the activities of the High Anti-Corruption Court.

The Verkhovna Rada also ordered the Cabinet of Ministers and the State Judicial Administration to take needed measures related to the establishment of the High Anti-Corruption Court and the implementation of the law.

The law comes into force on the day following the day of its publication.
