Knyazev, Yelchenko discuss participation of Ukrainian law enforcement officers in peacekeeping operations

Head of the National Police of Ukraine Serhiy Knyazev and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United Nations Volodymyr Yelchenko discussed the participation of Ukrainian law enforcement officers in peacekeeping operations.

"According to Head of the National Police Serhiy Knyazev, the de-occupation of Donbas is a very important direction of work for the law enforcement officers of Ukraine. Therefore, the meeting participants discussed the issue of Ukraine's participation in peacekeeping operations. The parties exchanged views and also agreed on vision of the situation and common positions," the press service of the National Police informed.

In particular, they talked about the possibility of increasing the number of police and military personnel, as well as their direction in the peacekeeping missions under the auspices of the United Nations.

"The Interior Ministry, the National Police and the National Guard are ready for this. This is the position of Internal Minister of Ukraine Arsen Avakov," Knyazev said.
