Poroshenko thanks European Parliament for provision of EUR 1 bln in assistance

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has thanked the European Parliament for approving a decision to provide macro-financial assistance worth EUR 1 billion to Ukraine.
In a post on his Facebook page, President Poroshenko wrote: “Good news from the European Parliament! An overwhelming majority of MPs have just supported a proposal of the European Commission for a new macro-financial assistance program for Ukraine worth EUR 1 billion. I thank all friends of Ukraine in the European Parliament and European institutions for the unity in supporting Ukraine.”
According to him, this decision is another evidence of "real progress" of Ukraine on its ways of reforms.
President Poroshenko said he hopes that the European Council will soon approve the final decision on the provision of assistance.
