He wrote this on Facebook, stressing that the meeting was held on the eve of the talks between the presidents of France and Russia.
"My goal was to convey information about repressive actions against Crimean Tatars by the Russian occupation authorities in the temporarily occupied Crimea and to discuss ways of putting pressure upon Russia to release political prisoners in Crimea," Chubarov said.
He expressed hope that "the discussion of many issues of the dramatic present of Crimea on the eve of the meeting between French President Emmanuel Macron and Russian President Vladimir Putin will have useful effect."
As reported, on May 24-25, Macron will visit the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, where he will meet with Putin.
