The situation in eastern Ukraine is one of the main priorities during a month-long rotating presidency of Poland at the UN Security Council.

Ambassador of Poland to the UN Joanna Wronecka stated this, the Polish Press Agency (PAP) reported.

"At the initiative of Poland, the situation in Ukraine will be discussed at the Security Council. The proposal was adopted by consensus," she said.

According to her, one of the important events during Poland's presidency will be an open discussion on strengthening the role of international law to ensure peace and security in the world. The discussion will be organized on May 17 with the participation of President of Poland Andrzej Duda.

The ambassador believes that this discussion will raise the interest, since the last discussion on this issue was conducted back in 2006.
