Since 2014, the United States has provided almost $1 billion in aid to Ukraine for strengthening its security.

"This aid, of course, includes equipment, and we often focus on this. I think we provide many important types of equipment, including night vision devices, radars and so on, which improve capabilities and save the lives of Ukrainians," U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch said in an interview with Radio Liberty.

In the opinion of American and Ukrainian generals, the Ambassador stressed, "the most important investment" is the military exercises, which are carried out by the Americans and other NATO allies in Ukraine.

"Despite the fact that the Ukrainian soldiers make the greatest contribution as they bravely defend Ukraine at the front, I think that the exercises helped to strengthen their capabilities. I know that our soldiers are amazed at how much Ukraine has changed," she said.
