Ukraine’s Ambassador to the EU, Mykola Tochytskyi said this in an interview with EurActiv.
"First, I don’t see any necessity for building Nord Stream II. What EU countries need is to use our gas transport system. Also, from security, it would be very dangerous," the ambassador said.
He stressed that the existing transit system via Ukraine supplied all the Central European countries.
"Nord Stream II means that only Gazprom and Germany will decide. I don’t see any necessity, and no interest, except for Russia and maybe some German companies, to have Nord Stream II," Tochytskyi said.
The ambassador recalled how Russia had used gas supply as a weapon last March.
