Ukraine hopes for the resumption of a constructive dialogue with Hungary, in particular regarding the deepening of Ukraine-NATO cooperation, in view of the elections held in the country and the formation of a new government.

"We are now ready for a new stage of relations, taking into account the results of the elections and the formation of a new government. We expect that, nevertheless, the political expediency, which we believe to be one of the reasons for Hungary's sufficiently tough position, will be reviewed and we will have a constructive dialogue at the bilateral level," Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Vasyl Bodnar said in a commentary to an Ukrinform correspondent.

As the diplomat noted, Ukraine offered to resume a constructive dialogue even before the elections and makes the same offer now "taking into account the positive achievements."

As reported, Budapest blocked the ministerial meeting of NATO in February. The Hungarian government explained that it put pressure on Ukraine in such a way, demanding to revise the language article of the law on education.
