Ukraine and Turkey are ready to enhance cooperation in the implementation of joint projects in the energy, aviation and military-technical sectors.

These issues were discussed at a meeting of Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman and Interior Minister of the Turkish Republic Süleyman Soylu, the government’s press service reports.

“Turkey is our strategic partner. And strengthening cooperation in the trade and economic sphere is one of the key prerequisites for the successful development of a strategic partnership," said Groysman.

The Ukrainian prime minister stressed that Turkey’s support of Ukraine’s territorial integrity, the non- recognition of the occupation of Crimea, the protection of the rights and interests of Ukrainian citizens - the Crimean Tatars – are very important for Kyiv, as well as the efforts of the both sides to strengthen the economic aspect of cooperation.

In turn, the Turkish Interior Minister said that "our relations with Ukraine were based and are based on partnership and solidarity."

He also stressed during the current uneasy period “it is necessary to be together” and continue joint cooperation.

The meeting was held in the scope of the 11th Kyiv Security Forum, which is held in the Ukrainian capital on April 12-13.
