"The head of the Ukrainian state expressed solidarity with the British people and the government about the poisoning of Sergei Skripal in the city of Salisbury. Petro Poroshenko stressed Ukraine's readiness to help investigate this case if necessary," the statement reads.
May thanked Ukraine for showing solidarity with Britain and, in turn, condemned Russia's aggression in Donbas and Crimea.
Poroshenko thanked the British side for continued support of the territorial integrity of Ukraine and non-recognition of the results of recent illegal elections in occupied Crimea. The issue of strengthening sanctions in response to Russia's aggressive actions was also discussed.
The sides discussed the strengthening of bilateral cooperation in the field of security and defense.
They also spoke about preparations for the 2nd Ukraine Reform Conference in Copenhagen, which will take place in June.
Poroshenko invited May to pay an official visit to Ukraine.
