Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Ivanna Klympush-Tsyntsadze does not see any prospects for visa liberalization with Canada or the United Kingdom in the near future.

"I do not see any prospects for visa liberalization with Canada or the United Kingdom in the near future," Klympush-Tsintsadze said in an interview with the Obozrevatel Ukrainian media outlet.

As for the UK, we should reckon with Brexit as the scope of issues the Britons are to settle with the EU complicates the talks on other topics, the Ukrainian Vice PM said.

"Although I hope that there will be a willingness to improve the visa application procedure to make it quicker. There are cases when people are issued visas when they are not needed, because tickets or invitations for an event are no longer valid," Klympush-Tsintsadze noted.

Speaking about Canada, the Ukrainian official said that Canadian government did not give an affirmative answer to the proposal of the national security committee of the Canadian Parliament on the road map for visa liberalization with Ukraine.

"Canada has its own migration policy. It has a visa regime with most countries of the world. Canada puts forward tough requirements for the states applying for visa waiver. Therefore, in my opinion, it’s a matter of not one or two years," Klympush-Tsintsadze summed up.
