Ukraine, Germany to intensify inter-parliamentary cooperation

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and German Parliament Speaker Wolfgang Schauble have discussed reforms in Ukraine and cooperation with the IMF, the press service of the head of state has reported.

"The parties discussed the progress of reforms in the financial, economic, banking and energy sectors of Ukraine. They stressed the importance of continuing Ukraine's cooperation with the IMF as a significant factor of stability and international confidence," the statement reads.

Poroshenko and Schauble also agreed to intensify inter-parliamentary cooperation between Ukraine and Germany.

Poroshenko visited Germany on April 10 at the invitation of Chancellor Angela Merkel.

The head of state held talks with Merkel, Foreign Minister Heiko Maas, and President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
