Ukrinform
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed a decree establishing a new professional holiday on July 4 - the Ukrainian Police Day.

The head of state said this at a ceremony to award certificates for water and road transport to the National Police of Ukraine, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"I consulted with the minister, and today I signed a decree introducing a new professional holiday - the Ukrainian Policy Day on July 4," Poroshenko said.

He said that it was not about moving the holiday from August 4, but about establishing a new holiday, "as we established new police."

The National Police Day of Ukraine was marked on August 4. On that day, in 2015, the Ukrainian president signed the new law of Ukraine on the National Police, which was previously approved by the Verkhovna Rada.
