France and Germany to put pressure on Russia to achieve fulfillment of Minsk agreements

France and Germany will make joint efforts and put pressure on Russia, demanding to fulfill its obligations under the Minsk accords to secure peace in Donbas.

French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said this at a press conference in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"I and my German counterpart will continue to make efforts, aimed at implementing the Minsk accords. We will continue to exert pressure on the Russian Federation, demanding to fulfill the Minsk agreements and its commitments," the minister said.

He clarified he primarily meant security commitments.

"Russia must do its utmost to ensure full and steady compliance with the cease-fire regime in Donbas, which will allow proceeding to the next stage of implementation of the Minsk agreements which is of a political nature," the French foreign minister emphasized.
