Avakov: We expect Italy to support Ukraine’s efforts in reforming civil security sector

Ukraine expects Italy to actively support Ukraine’s efforts in reforming the civil security sector.

Interior Minister of Ukraine Arsen Avakov stated this at a meeting with Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Italy to Ukraine Davide La Cecilia, the ministry’s press service reports.

“We expect further constructive cooperation and Italy's active support for our efforts in reforming the civil security sector of our state," Avakov said.

He noted that Italy plays an important role in the all-European system of combating organized crime.

The minister also said he hopes that Italy will continue to support and strengthen measures and sanctions against the Russian Federation over its aggressive actions against Ukraine.

In turn, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador David La Cecilia assured Avakov that Italy fully supports Ukraine on its way of reforms
