Klimkin comments on Sobchak's intention to visit Crimea

Ukrinform
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin has called "political schizophrenia" the intention of Russian presidential candidate Ksenia Sobchak to conduct election campaigning in Russia-occupied Crimea.

"Complying with Ukrainian legislation for entry into the occupied Crimea is, of course, a positive thing, but legal entry to conduct illegal campaigning for illegal elections in the occupied territory is definitely political schizophrenia," Klimkin wrote on Twitter.

According to him, for communication with the Crimean Tatars it is necessary to go to Kyiv and meet with representatives of the Mejlis.

"I hope that Mrs. Sobchak is on the side of the civilized world," Klimkin said.

Sobchak said on March 6 that she had applied to the Ukrainian embassy for permission to travel to the occupied Crimea, assuring that he would go to the peninsula only through Ukraine if she receives the permission.
