The purpose of the Minsk agreements is to restore the territorial integrity of Ukraine and to eliminate the illegal structures of Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) and Luhansk People's Republic (LPR).
U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations Kurt Volker wrote this on his Twitter page.
"The purpose of the Minsk agreements (which leaders of so-called LPR/DPR signed) is to restore Ukraine's territorial integrity & constitutional order. Implementing Minsk = dissolution of these illegal structures. Unwillingness to disband = unwillingness to implement Minsk," he wrote.
As Ukrinform reported, Kurt Volker recently spoke during a panel discussion at the Hudson Institute research organization. He expressed hope that the UN peacekeeping mission in Donbas would help implement the Minsk agreements.
